HDD now and SSD later

Hello,

So I want to get an HHD now and SSD later but what happens when I do that? Does everything on the HDD transfer to the SSD or does the things like your drivers, documents, desktop, picture, steam, skype, firefox move to the SSD but things like my steam game stay on the HDD?

Also, if I get a wd black hard drive from amazon how do I activate the warranty if it breaks or stops working?

It is MUCH easier to start with the SSD, but you can do it the other way around.

Either migrate from the old drive to the new drive, or simply clean install on the SSD.

Migrate - This requires that the total used space on the HDD be smaller than the size of the SSD.
Everything goes. You can't pick and choose.

Clean install - Disconnect the old drive, connect the SSD, install.
After it works, reconnect the old drive and wipe it.
