So I've been using a 640gig wd blue for a bit and found my self running out of place. I have a hp 750 gig drive as a replacement drive for a notebook but never installed it. So could I use this in my system for some slower storage. It would be nice to get this to work because I don't have the time or money to get a new hdd or ssd. I'm pretty sure the drive is completely empty but it came with hp recovery disks

Solution
You might have to format the drive but that is really easy.. Use windows disk management. You should be able to find it by searching for it or in Windows Explorer right click "Computer" and select "Manage" when it loads you will see "Disk Management" listed. Click on it and look for your new hard drive. Then you can partition it and format it.

Seeing as it is a HP replacement Hard Drive hard telling what is on it if anything at all. If it has stuff on it format it in Windows Explorer, If it is so new that it is not even partitioned then use disk management to make a partition, then format it..
