Hello. I recently bought a PC from craigslist for 500$ it included
Mono:A88X-Pro
CPU:A8-6600K
GPU: Sapphire R9 270x
PSU: 500 watts. I believe its cx-500
Memory: Corsair 16Gb Ram

Now, it has come to my attention that the A88X-Pro only works with and CPUs. Correct me if I'm wrong. However I don't have enough money to change mobos and get a new CPU and get the 970 gtx. My original plan was to get the 970 gtx and a new CPU. Thinking i could get an i5 4690k I went ahead on bought this. Now I feel like no CPU willndo well with the 970.

All I would like to know is if there's any CPU that would work with this mono and the 970 gtx without bottling it. Under 500$. Or possibly any CPU that works with the r9 390 without bottling it. OR, a new mono that supports all that I have now but includes a new CPU, GPU and 970 gtx. For under 500$

Solution

Very very wrong. That's the BARE minimum?! LOL. You have no perspective for computers. The bare minimum is something with a PCI-Express x1 slot, and 200W+wattage for other components. That'll make sure that the GTX 970 at least operates, though not at the desired performance. You said the bare minimums, so you just got more than what you've asked for.
(xD)

To the OP, it seems to me you already have the best fit for a GTX 970. If you're adamant on getting AMD, get FX-8320, Asus M5A99FX-EVO R2.0 motherboard, and a EVGA SuperNOVA G2 750W PSU. A88X, which runs APUs, doesn't cut any cheese in games today. Or the other solution is to get Intel, which Pyro mentioned...

The whole point is that I just spent 500$ on thisbpc and have 500 more. Which I don't believe is enough for a new mbob a decent CPU and the gtx 970. I'd much rather have an Intel CPU.

With an intel cpu you are going to need to change the motherboard
So these are the builds I reccomend
AMD= https://pchound.com/vLmVV7/
Intel= https://pchound.com/mcsA3q/

Now, if you want a better gpu, amd is the way to go
If you want a better cpu , intel is better

By BARE minimum I mean to say that it won't bottleneck the gtx 970.
