Hi,
I have Windows 7 (64 bit), core i7 2600k 3,4 ghz, 8gb RAM, Asus P8P67 pro mainboard, Corsair SSD... I also have a swiftech water cooling fan for the CPU (that I didn't install myself). I have AI SUITE II.
This fan is always working at 100% (wich is around 2500 rpm all the time if FanXpert is reliable) even if the CPU temperature is well below 20C and even if I'm just browsing the web. It is really loud, kind of like listening to Top Gun but without any good quotes.
Every ''auto'' or ''quiet mode'' for the CPU fan in the BIOS have been tested, I even tried turning it of (at 0% max), it changed nothing. I tried every tweek in FanXpert and it doesn't change a thing (for every ''Fan Power'' it shows the same RPM). I wasn't able to use speedfan (but I didn't spend a lot of time with that software).
I am now considering unplugging the damn thing when I just surf the web, but I know that would be a dumb move.
I've read many threads here and there, but no solution proposed seem to work for me. There's just one that I wasn't able to try, it implied the fan calibration file from FanXpert, but I can't find it.
Any idea? I'm starting to get a bit crazy.
Thank you for your help,
LF
