Hi!
Is there anyone out there who's using i5 6600K + Hyper 212 Evo? If you do, what temperatures are you getting idle as well as under load?

My idle temperature is at ~30-32 degrees celcius in a room thats around 24 degrees.

Hey,

I don't own the 212 Evo except I can say that idle temperatures for a CPU at 30-32 degree's is completely normal and any lower would be unnecessary but if you really want to know I'm sure someone who owns the 212 Evo will answer your question soon. (Put in the tags, EVO, EVO 2012, Hyper 2012 EVO).

Might help :)

Hi i have an i5 6600k o.c @ 4.6 and an evo 212, I'm getting temps up to 80-82c, I came here to find out if that was too high but it seems normal, I don't know wether to downclock for safety.

As long as it doesn't run at over 80°C 24x7, you have no issues at all.

Thanks, but I recently decided to use prime 95 to do some stress testing, and I found that it was in the >90c during small ftt test, I'm wondering weather to get a liquid cooler, just to get those temps down.

30C-ish idle is fine, 80C for 24/7 is a bit high. What is your Vcore voltage and how did you overclock it? You don't need a liquid cooler. I run an i7 4790K at 4.8Ghz (and an i5 at the same speed) on a good air cooler.

you can just throw money at the problem; it's your money after all, but I would want to know why your temps are too high under load. My system runs 82C on Prime95 26.6.

The 212 is a budget cooler, but you should have a lower top end then 80C in normal use full oad.

As a reference I also have a 6600K paired with a Hyper 212 EVO running on a Gigabyte Z170 Gaming 3 with a 4.2Ghz overclock on stock voltage and haven't had temperatures climb above the 140F/60C mark.

I'm assuming 4.4Ghz is easily obtainable but see no reason to in my case as thus far nothing seems to max out the CPU other than stress tests/benchmarking utilities.

Hope you all are having fun with your overclocking as this seems to be a great CPU for it.

hey sorry for the late reply, yes I was using later version of prime 95, after watching a linus tech vid where he mentioned it being extremely bad for your cpu, I have ordered a new cooler a seidon 120 nothing to big but I have read some good reviews on it, and since I am downgrading my pc case I found the evo 212 wasn't going to fit. thanks for your feedback and help guys
