so i want to upgrade my ram and my motherboard supports 2 gb per slot and the maximum frequency is 1333 mhz i tried to go to the stores to ask for a 4 gb 1333 mhz ram and because my current one is a 2 gb 400 mhz. so i asked if they have 4 gb 1333 mhz i told them that i need a ddr3 240pin ram and they told me that my computer is too old and they only have ram for new generation computers. btw my motherboard is a foxconn 2a8c what ram can you recommend for this one? is it still possible to upgrade to 4gb 1333mhz for my desktop?

Like you said, 2 x 240-pin DDR3 DIMM slots Supports Dual Channel DDR3 1333/1066/800 MHz non-ECC, un-buffered memory (Max 4GB). So you'd want to looks for something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231180 ~Credit to rentakelplakband http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2637338/motherboard-details.html

Depending on what you want to do, you may want to look at upgrading to a new system. Obviously some RAM is cheaper than a new system but if you intend to play games etc, you'll want to start saving for a new build. Sadly, not all issues are fixed by slapping more RAM in there (though the people here at work may think otherwise =p)
