I am looking to upgrade one or two items. What should I upgrade

Currently I am playing games like Assassins Creed, Rocket League, Smite and some FPS titles. I am wanting to upgrade with a budget of about $150 to $180 in mind. My current specs are as follows:

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition
Motherboard: MSI 970A-G46
RAM: 8GB Crucial 1333
GPU: PNY Geforce GTX650
SSD: Mushkin 128GB
HDD: 1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM
PSU: Thermaltake 550W 80+ Bronze

Just a quick edit: I am currently looking at either upgrading the cpu or gpu but would like some suggestions to help me out. I have the budget but if I wait a few extra weeks I can push the budget to just over 220.

it totally depends on what games you play, as some prefer ATI other prefer NVidia but I would say go for the 750ti as its such a good all round card

Why should I go with the gtx 750 over any of the other cards? I personally like nvidia but I am willing to change to AMD if someone can explain why it would be better for me.

I'm sorry I don't mean to generalize. I understand that upgrading my gpu would be an increase in frame rate but the question I am asking is what would be the difference between the 750 and the R7 370?
