I got a new drive today becuase my old one was dying, half way through copying the TB of data from old to new, old drive crashed again, so I rebooted by PC. All seemed fine then Steam (installed on new drive) started acting odd and breaking, after restarting my PC, the whole of the new drive was "corrupted and unreadable", I checked Disk management and it said the File system was RAW, so i formatted it back. It seems to work, and crystalifo and HDtune see no problems, but is the drive really OK, could it just have been corrupted data from the old drive and being shut down during data transfer that broke it? or do I have a faulty drive and should i get rid of it?

Hey there, ws_volt.

Well, having in mind all tests came back without any issues, chances are that your new drive is fine. I'd say that either corrupted data from the old drive might have done that (as you've mentioned) or rebooting while transferring data might have corrupted the files system. If you have seen just the SMART data, I'd recommend that you do a long/extended or whatever it's called test, to see if anything unusual pops-up, just to be on the safe side.

Hope that helps.
