Some guy off craigslist upgraded my PC with a A-10 7850k I already have a R9 280x Vid card. Will they work together?

I am noobish. Will my good Vid card run games better both the CPU working together with the Vid card? How does that work"? This is a cheap gaming rig. I hear my CPU will somehow affect my Video cards ability to run games well.

Yes, the CPU and GPU works together. The CPU will run most games on Low - Medium Settings, The GPU is fine enough to run most games on semi high settings. But again they work together so you need to upgrade th CPU to run on higher settings for certain games.

I have seen where people have said that your Graphics card will be used when in graphically intense situations while in less stress situations it will not be used and on board will kick in.
