GTX 770 2gb enough for 1080p

will the 2gb be enough for the latest games at 1080p single monitor? or should i go for the 4gb. I know the card is old but its the only card on my price/performance range right now and i wanna play FO4 as soon as its out.

Alternatively i could buy an R9 280x but i heard it runs hot and im kinda nvidia fanboy hehe

  1. Yes, you should be able to play games at 1080P with GTX 770. FPS will depend on the games.

    gta v, witcher 3?
  3. I think that the newest gta is about the only game that requires a whole lot of memory in a GPU. 4GB and some. You might have to tone down the video settings but you still should be able to play at 1080P.

Of course you can play those games at 1080P resolution with that card. Here's a Youtube link to check it out yourself. Anyone suggests differently doesn't know what they're talking about.

say i have an i5 4460 and 8gb of ram what settings and fps should i get from tw3 and gta v
  6. I haven't played that game but you should be able to optimize your settings with Nvidia's GeForce Experience, which comes with the GPU's driver. There is also a FPS monitor function/option so that you can see what the FPS is during the game. With that i5 and memory, you should be able to play any game you want at 1080P. Here's what Nvidia has to say about GTA.

Like I said earlier, you might have to play with your video settings to higher FPS.
  7. thing I don't get here is I hope your not buying this 770 card new ?? there being phased out hard to find and just about down to referb's as whats now in stock to buy like at newegg ??

seems to me just go with the 4gb gtx 960 and be done with it ??? [opinion]

now if you already got the 770 stick it in and run it till you see its a issues some how or dies and you have to upgrade - all my cards are 2gb right now on 1080 - still doing a good job
