Got a build for my partner in mind. Intended as a gift, its a gaming/media PC which will be connected to our 50" 1080p TV. Most demanding game she would be playing is Witcher 3 or perhaps Fallout 4 when released, though max settings is not really necessary.

Im a bit unfamiliar with Matx boards and was really just going for a relatively cheap (as long as it works) red and black themed board, so any suggestions on a better board or other hardware for around the same price range, and anywhere i might be able to save a bit and still get the required performance is appreciated.

Cheers

Intel i5 4690K
Asrock Fatality Z97M Killer
Asus Nvidia Gtx 750ti
Corsair Vengeance Pro 1600Mhz
EVGA 500B
Samsung 850 Evo 250GB
1TB Seagate HDD
Bitfenix Aegis

I suggest you leaving the SSD and get a better VGA on the saved money, because I think this VGA won't be enough on that screen. I'd also rather get an i5 4460, since without a better cooler overclocking is not recommended. Therefore an H97 chipset board is enough (you can get a Z97 chipset as well though, a bit better durability). On the saved price an r9 290 should make it, but you will have to choose a bigger PSU then. I didn't look up the prices right now, but I should be approximately right.

One thing i left out, was thinking of integrating a closed loop cooler perhaps with the initial build or at a later date. A Seidon 120 or H55 perhaps. Guess it just depends on whether a better GPU and stock clocked 4460 or an overclocked 4690k and 750ti is going to be most beneficial. The Higher End GPU in above stated game most likely?

The better GPU is what I can absolutely suggest for you.You will not experience as much performance with the better CPU as with better GPU, in case of gaming. And the cooler you get for the 4460 is more than enough for that CPU even in it's OC mode, so your budget will allow an even better GPU.
