My Skylake i5-6600K didn't come in its proper packaging, is it still OK? First time building a computer, and I ordered the i5-6600K from ALTERNATE, but didn't come in its proper Intel packaging.

It came in a small cardboard box with sponge padding, having been taken out of its plastic cover and the correct box, it also didn't come with any user manual.

Can anyone tell me if it will still be alright? Should have been a new product, and not used or refurbished.

I would get it sent back straight away, if it was legit, the transaction would be much more professional than you have made it out to be, considering you ordered something brand new! It might be tempting to get it into your system right away, but it's most likely worth the wait to sort things out without, as Robert said, being presented with a whole load of warranty crap.

He bought a 6600k, even if he did buy a retail box it wouldn't come with a stock cooler.
The unlocked skylake CPU's come in a rather small box, comparing to past CPU's.

Alternate didn't specify if it was an Oem, I selected the standard option. It Didn't come with a fan but isn't that normal for the i5-6600K? Came in a small plain blue box, in a larger box with the rest of my components.
