Hello,

I currently have the following machine :

i7 4790k
Asus Maximus Gene VII Micro ATX MB
16GB DDR3 Ram
512GB Samsung Pro 240 SSD
2 x 500GB HDD's
Corsair CX750
GTX h100i - Cooler
GTX 660 Asus GPU.

Currently I have this setup as my home server however I didn't want to run it 24/7 because I have a feeling it's very power hungry and is going to cost me a bomb to run all the time. Anyone have a clue on how all the wattage to cost is worked out for electricity ?

I was having a think and was planning on possibly building a home server for plex to run / storage (Maybe a EXSI Host with some vm's running)

I have the following :

128GB SSD - Going to use for the OS
4GB of DDr3 Ram (possibly alittle more can't remember)
1TB Drive x 2

What would the best cpu / case and psu be for building a nice little home server / media server. I really want to be able to stream 1080p and have this running 24/7 so low power is going to be key with low noise.

Suggestions appreciated on both parts..

Flash the BIOS on that MB as one of the first things you do (H81 support for Haswell Refresh CPU)...
