Right, so i'm trying to overclock my ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9000, but msi afterburner will not let me change any of the sliders, not even the fan speed. And its and AMD card, so i know it can be overclocked. Any ideas?
Wow that card is ancient. It was out long before AMD bought ATI. Driver support for it was drop long ago which is why the newer catalyst drivers won't work. The gpu overclocking software won't work and with a card like that it's a moot point anyway.
If i'm correct, AMD mobile GPUs are locked for obvious reasons. Overclocking on a laptop is dumb since the cooling system can't even handle max loads of CPU and GPU at stock speeds.

uhm...its not a laptop. its a desktop. i dont know why it says its mobile

its a dell dimension e310 that i pute the gpu in, and the gpu is a ati radeon 9000
Radeon 9000 is the gpu series not the make and model.
No, thats what it is, on the card it says: ATI RADEON 9000/64M DDR PCI. and the rest is irreverent like: WY2015099411286 Warranty 1 year Made in China.

if this is the same $20 card that comes up when googling it, i highly doubt it was made for over clocking. OCing is reserved for mid-high end cards. that card doesn't even compete with modern integrated graphics.

well, theres my ansure. but people were still overlcocking their cards back in the day when this card was made, so how did they do it?
