According to the popup I received after starting my computer. My laptop went through a batch of updates on windows 10. Keep in mind I have a clean install of windows 10 on my computer and I have an SSD as well.

My computer will boot to the windows 10 startup splash screen with the dots that rotate in a circle. Then it will go to a black screen and hang there for about a minute or two. When it finally boots into windows everything works fine, my computer is fast and I do not receive any errors.

I am debating doing a clean install on the computer. I would like to avoid this at all cost though. I have an HP Dv6-6173tx.

I should note that it also take a while to recover from standby.

UPDATE: I just checked my windows updates and it said that my computer did not receive any updates since the 12th. The only difference seems to be with AMD catalyst driver was installed recently.

I will check this out, in the meantime does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi! I have an ASUS Vivobook S550CM.
On my laptop I have the reverse of your problem.

When I turn on the screen, the screen's backlight turns on but screen is black for about 30seconds. After 30seconds the manufacturer's splash screen comes with the rotating dots.
After that, it's all normal as it takes about 15 seconds to get to working desktop.

I tried refresh my PC to no avail! Was wondering if you figured out anything.

Thanks! :)

I had to reinstall my operating system. I had to pull the HDD to back up all my data first. I found out it was the .NET framework update that was causing the issue. I still do not know how to fix it.
