I currently have a single 4gb memory module running on slot 4 of the motherboard. I wanted to add another 4GB or 8GB module. The module is a corsair XMS3 module rated for 1666Mhz at 1.65V.(9-9-9-24) Currently though it is running at 1333Mhz at 1.5V.
I believe the XMS3 is no longer available
1) Which memory module might work with this? Guess i am stuck at 1333Mhz with the current module as the new modules all seem to be 1.5V at 1666Mhz or 1333Mhz
2)Would i see any performance gain at 1666Mhz for gaming? If i dont i could just buy another 1333Mhz DIMM (possibly the vengeance itself with the same timings)
3) Can i add a Gskill (if there is )with the same timings for either option 1 or 2?
