Low FPS in Battlefield 3/4 Online

Hi,

In both of these game I get a solid 60+ fps pretty much maxed out in singleplayer. When I switch to multiplayer, I get some pretty horrific fps drops, no mattter which settings. I have an amd fx 6300 @ 4.3 GHZ and an amd r9 280x.

Id wager its your CPU.

Multi-player is much more demanding on the CPU than single-player, as the amount of calculations it has to do rises significantly due to all the player movements/actions etc. Theres also generally more going on.

Your CPU is on the outdated side these days and really quite underpowered.

The only real thing I can suggest is an upgrade to an Intel i5 based system.

My suggestion is to overclock that thing as far as it would go. Mind you, you are quickly approaching it's limits, although 5 Ghz is possible on 990 boards like yours, it's worth a try. Go for broke outside of an i5 or xeon/i7 that is your only option.
