i3 vs oc'd fx 8320

which one is better. i will upgrade to an i5 in 3 years so the socket will be different, so upgrades dont matter. both with a xfx 280x

i would go with the fx 8320 oc'ed. honestly people are going to argue back and forth about this one though...im tellin' ya. most of the concern is the "dead end" AM3+ socket. honestly that wouldnt worry me if i made sure to get a motherboard with the options i needed. you'll have more fun overclocking the FX and by the time you're gonna wanna upgrade either of them you're gonna probably want a new motherboard with an all new socket anyways...don't let them scare you with the "dead socket" talk

if you go with a 3rd or 4th gen i3, you will have a suitable motherboard that will take an i5/i7.

so three years ago i built a socket 1155 pentium based system. i just upgraded to an i7-3770 last week. cost me $120 for the chip. what does it matter about my socket??

Id say wait for skylake i3's for purely gaming even the lowest end chipset motherboards will allow for a good gaming experience.

i3 6820 is supposed to be clocked at 3.9 Ghz
