Hey,I am using i5 4460 and have stock intel cooling solution and using preapplied.It's been 1 year since I started using this and I have my hands on arctic silver 5 for a long time but havent used cause I am satisfied with temperatures.Atm at idle I can get 25-28 and 45-55 to 60 MAX(using in wow in a place with LOADS of players-over 50-) .I am also using intel HD so I don't know how heavy that's on my pc,was thinking of getting a gtx 970.So,after 1 year should I change the pre-applied with arctic silver 5 when my temperatures are that good or no?

Agreeing with everyone else on this thread, those temperatures are fine and normal. Upgrading your thermal paste to a more "expensive" one would just be a social boast to increase social reputation and really it's not needed.

I've heard that the Haswell & Devil's Canyon CPUs will throttle at 105 (On a Jayztwocents tech-talk, though he could have been talking about Haswell-E) but Dayum! start getting worried over 80 or 85. (Those would be constant temps under normal heavy load)
On an intel forum it's stated that even 85 is an acceptable maximum load temperature.
