im planning to overclcok my Athlon X4 750K.Can someone please say what is a safe voltage increase when CPU becomes unstable ?.The voltage is currently set in AUTO in the bios and when CPU is under stress with Prime 95 the voltage goes to 1.320V according to CPU-Z and HWmonitor.Sometimes voltage goes to 1.400's for some seconds but i guess thats the fault of the AUTO managing from the motherboard.Currently my CPU is running at 3.7ghz(not overclocked).i want to push it to like 4.1 or even 4.3 if i am lucky...I once "overcloked" it with the amd catalyst program (i know you are not supposed to overclock through software but i did it just for the lols) and it managed to overclock it till 4.3ghz. Can someone give me an idea by how much im supposed to increase the voltage everytime the CPU becomes unstable?

1.5V is the max for you cpu for everyday. Each time up the voltage by a very small amount, only has much as you have to for that particular speed.. Auto settings in the BIOS for voltage is usually way more voltage than you need for stability so you should try reading an 750K overclocking guide and get an idea of what settings you need to change like: APM, turbo boost, (basically any power saving), and more.. Yes you can do a basic overclock with just the multiplier and voltage but with a few more tweaks you will get better results.

Here's an overclock guide that covers that chip. No one can really tell you what the exact best voltage is, as every chip of the same model can vary greatly. You just have to slowly raise and lower the settings until you reach the stable sweet spot for yours. Good luck!
