Which CPU heatsink/fan should I get?

I am torn between 2 fans:

1. The Zalman CNPS 8900 quiet
2. The Noctua NH-L12

In tests, the Noctua out-performs the Zalman.

The issue is size. The Noctua is quite tall so I would have to sacrifice the top of the two fans. Is it still better without this fan or does the Zalman push ahead?

I have an Alienware X51 case if you were curious.

Any help is appreciated.

I would say go with the one that fits in your case, so go with the zalman.

the best bang for buck cpu cooler is the coolermaster hyper 212 but idk if that will fit in your case

Looking at the zalman and the cryorig, they look about the same size.

CRYORIG C1 is the best of it's style on the market.

Dimensions for the Zalman 120mm X 120mm X 60mm (Zalman site)
Cryorig 140mm X 144,5mm (heatsink sticks out a bit) X 74mm

Also I can't find anyone who has put the cryorig in the X51 so...

If you know the Zalman fit's for sure , better to get it.

Cryorig is superior , but get what fits.
