I am trying to build a budget gaming build for as cheap as possible 250 - 300£ don't mind going used since you can get better performance. What CPU would you recommend? I started for a first gen 9xx i7 but the 1366 motherboards are very expensive. The 1156 i5 750 is cheap at around £30 and i could overclock it a good amount. I'm also thinking of buying a £100 ish refurbished i3 pc and swapping out the cpu and increasing ram to 8gb if need be. I'd try get a new psu leaving £100 or so for a gpu. Any suggestions. Thanks

It is a problem to advise you because of the great variance in prices of the used parts. Get a good PSU. A PSU is a 'forever' part and may last many upgrades if it is good. Refurbished business PCs usually have 300W or less PSUs, so cannot handle much in the way of GPU and may lack the PCI-e power cables GPUs need too. OK if a GTX 750ti is the best you plan to use though.
