Hi All

Struggling to find a reason/solution to this problem.

I have a Gigabyte Z68 UD5. Running an i72600k, 16GB Gskill RAM (4X4GB sticks), Sli GTX 570's. Powered by Corsair 850w Psu.

CPU Cooler is Corsair H80. Have not been over clock for the past two years.

So suddenly I realise my second GFX card isn't showing up. I pull it out and test both separately, both work individually as soon as there is two in the second one does not show up in device manager also not putting any output to monitors on boot. A few days later I also notice only half my RAM is being used. Windows shows 16GB installed (7.9GB) usuable.

Sure enough I check the bios and its shows all 4 sticks installed but only enabling 2 dimm slots.

Pull out two sticks and check bios. Says two stick installed but only enabling 1 stick. Test all ram and the same thing.

Seems like dual channel has turned off/broke/disabled? Also I am guessing the second PCI-e slot is disabled??? Any ideas?

Was working for years perfectly fine. My son does like to randomly turn off my PC (He is 2)

So my wife sometimes turns it off at the power point. (Instant shutdown)

I figure its a dead mobo but a replacement is hard to find (Socket 1155) and I dont want to replace it when its a failing PSU which might be causing the mobo to shut stuff down?

Any help/ideas direction would be appreciated.

Thanks

Those are not good for the PC, and you may try update the BIOS and chipset driver to see the pc acts same or not.
If you use win7/8 get the chipset driver from intel https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/20775 if you use win10 get it from http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/intel-chipset-software-installation-10-1-2-10-whql-download.html
If you want to buy the new MB, you may find the Z77 for your i7 2600k.
