how much space does a Win98SE install take up?

i'm about to install Win98SE onto a small hard drive, but i also want to partition it ahead of time since it will dual-boot a WinXP later on. assuming an average "office style" set of apps being installed later on, how much space would the Win98SE files take up?

please tell me just how much space the FILES take up, not how big i should make the partition. if you're running 98SE, can you just check the C:\ drive properties for how much space is being used?

thanks! but sadly, the machine gave out during my bootups, so... no Win98SE love for me :(
maybe i'll need to scour the used / classified sites for another old-but-still-working box that'll be ancient enough to run 98SE. i already have the AGP card for it.

if all it takes is 130M, then even a 4G CF card via an IDE adapter would work well.

Happy to help, also, if you're looking for a computer that can run 98SE well, try the Dell Optiplex line of computers, specifically the 330 or 310, it runs really good.

as long as it takes DDR and AGP, i'll play with it. i have a spare IDE drive and floppy drive to go with it. if i could figure out whether it's my mobo or cpu that's hosed, i'd replace it and rebuild again. it's kinda fun and nostalgic. and mainly i want DOS and that start-up sound.

if i can make whatever next board work, along with the AGP card i have (all in wonder 9600 xt), then i'll be relatively happy. i honestly can't recall what the standards were back then since i bought my first computer in 95 or 96 and it was an HP pre-built. i didn't get into the self-built stuff until probably 10 years later. i don't even remember if that old HP was running 95, 98, or 98SE. but whatever i do today / this year, at least i'll learn stuff i didn't learn back then!

PCI graphics card... wow. i wonder if i can find anything on my local classified sites. that may be TOO obsolete for anyone to even bother keeping around...

i thought about that, but it's not authentic. i mean, i'm ok with fake boobs, but a fake ok just takes all the nostalgia out of it.

i managed to score a second mobo/cpu setup, so i'll be trying that!
