after i finish a Win98SE install onto a small hard drive (pre-partitioned), i want to add WinXP onto it for dual-booting. but i want to partition my small hard drive ahead of time so that it's "right" from the beginning. assuming an average "office style" set of apps being installed later on, how much space would the WinXP files take up?

please tell me just how much space the FILES take up, not how big i should make the partition. if you're running XP, can you just check the C:\ drive properties for how much space is being used?

thanks!!!

ah, that's perfect! so i could really be just fine with a small (40G) hard drive partitioned like:

8G for Win98SE
2G for shared files between Win98SE and WinXP
30G for WinXP

or something along those lines. or similar ratios if i snag an 80G or 120G
