New RAM Not Working

I have a ASUS P9X79 LE LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with USB BIOS.

With that motherboard I have eight total functioning gigs of G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL.

Recently, I bought another pair (totaling eight additional gigs) of memory. The new ram is not being recognized. And, in a seemingly bizarre twist, my original RAM only seems to work when paired, in the exact slots that they're in.

I've tried to swap the old memory with the new, and the system wouldn't boot up. I tried keeping the original in its place, adding the new in the other blue slots, and it would boot, but isn't recognized. When I tried individual stick placement (both old and new) it again, would not boot.

The only working configuration I can come up with is the original. That's the original eight gigs (two sticks) in the A1 and B1 slots.

This seems perplexing. Can anybody help with some thoughts?

Are they the exact same RAM sticks? Same as in: brand, edition/series, Mhz, CAS (CL), modules, size (GB)?

Afaik, they need to be exact the same, otherwise there might be some issues.

According to my New Egg records, this is the link to the purchased products, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231428. Both were the same exact product.

That's right. When the two old sticks are replaced with the two new sticks, it won't boot. The only way that it will boot, is with the two old sticks, in the A1 and B1 slots. That's it. When I split the old ones up, and try them one at a time, it won't boot either.

I talked to a tech at GSkills, and he said to update my bios. Which it is quite old. I'll probably try that tonight.
