Hi guys, here is a brake down of my system currently:

i5-6600k 212 EVO
Asus Z170 Mobo
MSI R9 290x Gaming edition
1x 250 850 EVO SSD 1x 1TB black HDD
1x Blue ray read/write drive
8gb Ripjaws 2400MHz
4LED 120mm case fans

This is going to be used for gaming and I am looking to overclock the CPU when I get a good PSU and I am here to get you guys to give me a recommendation I would like something that will run my current system and a possible GPU upgrade to the GTX 980ti in the future, if you need more information let me know.

To acommadate a possible 980ti in the future I recommend looking in the 650W range to give yourself a nice amount of Wattage range to work with.

1) EVGA SuperNOVA GS 650W 80+ Gold: This is a fully modular tier 1 PSU which would be great for your build and would support the 980ti with no problem whatsoever.

2) XFX 650W 80+ Bronze: If you are more budget oriented but still want a quailty tier 2 PSU that can power your future upgrades this is a very good choice. Non-modular, but made with quailty components from Seasonic.

If you can afford it I highly recommed getting the EVGA unit, being fully modular it will greatly help with cable management and it's one of the single best PSU's in that wattage range on the market right now.

even if you will be playing at 1440p you will still have great performance no need for a gpu upgrade in the near future! also dont o/c yet. first you should evaluate your system performance at stock in order to have something to compare with later. as for a psu, i also vote for evga g2 !

Thanks for this reply, and thank you everyone for all of your replies, I don't care how much I have to pay for a PSU because I don't want it killing everything else in my computer :) I will be getting the G2 thank you all.

Summary from jonnyguru.

It certainly looks like EVGA has another winner on their hands with this one. The 650 GS was pretty darned good already, and this model is just that much better. Do you really need any more reasons to buy one at this point? If so, perhaps you should see a doctor because you may be clinically dead.

The Good:

better than excellent ripple control
better than excellent voltage stability
fully modular
semi-fanless mode switch
fantastic build quality

The Bad:

I can hear Seasonic's teeth gnashing from here

The Mediocre:

nothing

I live in the UK and was happy to spend anywhere upward of £90 on my PSU and the EVGA 220-G2-0650-Y1 80 PLUS GOLD 650 W is only £65 so im very happy to be paying that price as Blackbird said its the best on the market :)
