Hello everyone, I'm a first timer here. I built a computer about 4years ago now and have encountered a random hiccup yesterday. I was on youtube and clicked fullscreen on a video. All of the sudden the screen started to show red artifacting and froze. I reseted the computer and it looked the same, however now it wouldn't get passed the initial bios loading. Eventually it stopped showing anything on the screen when I would restart my computer. The initial BIOS beep would occur on the motherboard, but then, after about 3 seconds, it gave one error beep. I was wondering if it was my gpu (EVGA GTX970) so I swapped it out with two other cards and it kept doing the same thing. I also observed that right after the first BIOS beep, the graphics cards fans would come to a stop. (that happened with all the cards i tested). Any input? Should I replace the motherboard?

Rig:
Asus Sabretooth 990fx R2.0
AMD FX8350
8gb ram corsair xms 3
EVGA GTX970

I like this

''The system then runs the power-on self tests (POST). While the tests are running, the BIOS beeps (refer to the BIOS beep codes table) or additional messages appear on the screen. If you do not see anything within 30 seconds from the time you turned on the power, the system may have failed a power-on test.

well most time you fire up and it gives on beep that like hit says it passed post but then it says no keyboard detected [like I boot plenty with out mouse or keyboard ] big deal

so that should not be of issue ??

you know if a oder psu and that card power demand was something that the psu was not use to [???] and jolted it in some way and cause it not to work ??

I guess you would need a metter to check the lead ? i'v read this with these newer cards and older psu's ? how true it is ??? but....

now if one of the cards your using to test just runs off the slot with out need of the psu lead then maybe the slot took damage some how ?? it got no onboard so its not like the bios setting chamged on you ?

test the card inanother computer [ and hope the card is not shorting things out ] but you see no card is working on yours but will the cards work in another as normal then you know to look else ware

all my sabertooths did for me was sink its saber teeth in to my bill fold but I do hope you the best

Hey everyone. I had a completely mental moment. I listened to Phillip Corcoran and plugged my keyboard back in and t eliminated the error beep, however the screen was still not showing anything. I decided to swap out my HDMI cable and when i look at my monitor....it was unplugged...

So dumb of me. I think i accidentally yanked it out and failed to think of the simplest solution before going all complex. Sorry for the wasted time. Appreciate everyone's input!
