Hello all ,

I have a question : Which setting is heavier on PC load and consume more power ? Ultra or High seting at 60FPS or low and Medium setting at 120FPS

I heavily care more about framerate and i don't mind playing at low setting as long as it reaches 120 FPS as i have a 144hz monitor capped at 120hz for power saving reasons so i am curious which of the previous setting is consuming more power and more load

Thanks

120fps at medium will consume less graphics and cpu resources resulting in less power draw overall.

UPDATE:

I read your post wrong, 60fps ULTRA and 120fps Medium are probably taxing your hardware the same, depending on the game. Resulting in similar power consumption.

The power savings will be so little that there is no need at all to worry about this. Do you plan the walking around the house and outside to minimize wear on your shoes and slippers so you have the most efficient route each time? That's about the extent of the power savings you are looking at. Unless you have a few hundred systems on all the time, it's better to spend time thinking about other things.

Thanks for your answers , And to My First main goal is to keep my hardware parts alive as much as possible then the power saving , I also love frame rates and don't mind playing at low resolution and setting as long as i play at high frame rates but i fear that 120FPS on low would be too much for my PC compared to 60 FPS on high for example , I also have a question , does 120FPS affect hard drives more than 60 FPs or it doesn't matter ?

My PC is

AMD FX 8350 4.0 ghz
AMD 270x 2GB
8 GB Ram
having a cooler master equipped

You spent quite a bit of money on a fast computer to keep it running on low settings so you can maximize lifespan LOL. If you want to minimize stress on your system, don't overclock it, make sure you have a very good power supply and motherboard, and run on lower settings. You can't tell the system to run at 120FPS, if it will get that high, then it will.

What you can do is set Vsynch on and just set the options to Medium, then it will match the FPS to the monitor refresh rate, or at least try to.
