Hi guys,

I am going to be buying a Pentium G3258 and an ASUS Z97p, as well as a Hyper212.

I want to overclock it to 4.4GHZ. How can I do this without blowing up my computer?

Many thanks,
AKNerd

It is really easy to overclock. In BIOS you will have a section about CPU assets, including the bus frequency, multiplier, power status, etc... You just have to increase the multiplier until you reach a stable value. Lets say you raise it from like x34 to x40. You go from 3,40 ghz to 4,00 ghz, without increasing voltage. You save changes, reboot, and once in Windows you stress the CPU with Prime95 for one hour. If your computer does not crash or reboot, it means that frecuency works with the stock voltage.
This means you can play around with the multiplier until you reach the maximum stable multiplier. After that, you would have to increase voltage, which is a bit more complex because you have to carefully watch your CPU temp.

Remember that in OC the key is to increase any value by small quantities, and stress test after every change.
