hi guys..im planning to overclock my pc, nothing over the top, but at maximum recommended limit..i want to make the most of my pc capabilities for daily use of gaming..(i can spend about 4 - 12 hours everyday online)..supposed i have sufficient cooling.
im curious,is there any disadvantages of daily use of overclocked pc ? what else the disadvantages beside increasing power consumption ?
thanks guys..any help would be much appreciated

Not to worry.
In daily usage as compared to benchmarking, your cpu will never run full out on all cores for extended times.
Gaming, for instance will rarely use more than 2-3 cores.

Only if you were folding or such would you give any thought to a problem.

Each cpu will have suggested maximums for voltage. Intel haswell for example, will be about 1.30v for vcore.
