CPU or PSU upgrade first for gpu?

So i got word that i will be receiving either a GTX Titan X or a 980ti though im not 100% sure what i should be upgrading first due to my system being not the highest spec currently.

At the moment i have a FX-6300 @ 4.5GHz for cpu and a GS600 for psu

i would be upgrading the cpu to a an i5/i7, though im not sure if i should get a better psu first, due to 600W being the minimum and not to sure if the GS600 will properly cope with the load

Indeed. With a nice high performance GPU like those you'll definitely want Intel over AMD's offerings at this time to make the most of it.

I'd say at least a i5-4690K with a great aftermarket cooler, Z97 mobo and a high enough quality PSU is your minimum, so you can feel confident enough to OC both the CPU and GPU to their fullest potential.

EDIT: Agree with Ironsounds.....Corsair GS should be able to get get you going with new setup:
