Hi everyone,

I really want to upgrade my computer to have more fps and not buy a new one, I want to reuse some of my parts to save money. I want to upgrade my computer but the really bad part is that my computer is a slim tower. My computer is Lenovo H520s core i5 (2nd generation) with only a built in graphics card. Could anyone help me find out which chasis is compatible if I upgrade, which graphics card is compatible and recommended, and the power supply. I'm thinking of upgrading the other components of my computer later, if it is possible...

Many thanks,

Your Neighborhood Computer Noob :( XD

Your motherboard is Micro-ATX, which means almost any case and power supply will work. Even a full or half tower ATX case.
ECS H61 MATX 1.0 95W MB @RTL8111F_A662 is the motherboard model
Almost any graphics card and power supply in a new case will work.
Look arround newegg and find a case you like and then give us a $ budget amount and we can suggest video cards and power supplies.

EDIT:

When I looked up you computer I came across the slim tower 520. Look inside and give us the model # off of the motherboard as a starter. So that we can be absolutely sure.

ok... so my price range on everything is under $400 and i was looking for cases but I never really researched too deeply and I want something under $70 for the case...

Just as I went to close out my search page I noticed another 520 lenovo and came back to this page and noticed your post.
Thanks for the catch as I very seriously hate giving out wrong advice. :(

So when i upgrade this computer again after this upgrade in two more years do I need to change the mobo for a better cpu? and should i invest a little more for the power supply so I don't need to buy a better one later?

SeaSonic is one of the best power supply makers on the market.
It can handle a GTX970 and CoreI7 4690 cpu.
The GTX970 was out of your budget, around $300 by itself not including case and power supply.
Newer processors and video cards will use even less power than current ones.

Your motherboard will take a I7 3770 a decent upgrade and will play all available games on the market.
If you can increase you budget to include the GTX 970 you will not need to upgrade the video card on your next upgrade. And play games at MAX or Ultra settings.

Ok I will increase my budget for the graphics card. And the grand total will be around 457. I have $520 and will get money later. So my next priority on the next upgrade is the cpu and anything else? I will also set your answer as solution after this question is answered. Many thanks dood :)

You did not state which I5 you have. and the 520s came with everything from the Pentium dual core to the I7.
Depending on which one you have you may be good until you do a complete NEW build with the power supply and video card carried over.

With the stock heatsink ,I would probable add a couple 120mm fans to the front of the case to keep temperature in check and make everything runs cooler. You may need a fan splitter to connect the front fans, such as this.

I have a quad core i5 with 3.00 ghz. I'm probably good until then and I'm not going to be playing games that are fps hungry until my next upgrade. Also, could you give me a list on all the fans and cables and etc. that I need? I'm not really experienced on knowing what components I need for a build.
