Green LED on Motherboard but doesn't turn on.
I built a new pc with all new parts but it wouldn't turn on no matter what. There is though a green led light on my motherboard which I guess indicates it is getting power? This is kind of a long story but here we go.

A few days ago I got all my parts except for the case.I started building without the case and straight open air on my motherboard box.I used an old 10 year pc case Power switch cable to turn it on and it worked at first.I force shut down the pc with the power button by just gently pressing it and it turned off. When I tried turning it on again it wouldn't turn on.I suspected the Power SW cable was faulty considering it belongs in a 10 year old pc case that doesn't even fit M-ATX.I tried the screwdriver method but it just didn't work....I've checked every single connector and checked if its in place but still no luck turning it on.Fast forward a few days later I got my case (Thermaltake H25) and a new PSU ( FSP Hexa+ 550w).Still did not work even with the new case front panel power switch.I've tried every possible position on the front panel pins but no success. Is my motherboard shorted or faulty?I've noticed the motherboard gets hot when I turn on the power supply.Neither of my fans are spinning.Nothing.

Did I somehow screw up and broke my motherboard?
Need help as this is very frustrating to me..

Solution
Try connecting only the 24 pin power cable and a case fan to the board. Start it and see if the case fan does spin. If not, then it might be a motherboard issue, assuming that the power supply does work.
