My 760 is really starting to show it's age and I've got the money now for a GTX 980 or an R9 fury (kind of liking the fury actually). But, would it be foolish to buy now and potentially have pascal or AMD's new gpus be amazing and be stuck with what I get now or should I just buy now and live in the moment?
Should I upgrade now or wait for pascal/new amd?

If your going to upgrade now, Id suggest not bothering with a 980. Either go all out on a 980ti or get the most performance for your money with a 970.
The 980 is one of the worst price
erformance cards on the market right now.
The problem with waiting to upgrade is; its technology in 2015. A person could sit and wait to upgrade, only for new things to be on the horizon at the end of the wait, so you wait again and again etc.
If you want something now, get it and now and worry about whats comes out later, otherwise you could be waiting for ever!

if you are disatisfied with your computer performance just upgrade now, the 980 or r9 fury will be good enough that you won't care about the newly released gpus
