Hello Toms Hardware!
I have a question I need some info on before making a purchase.
I'm in the market for a new monitor. I've been debating 1440P or 144HZ. ( I'm aware you can get both in one )
Anyway. I'm wondering about cloning a monitor and what are it's limits.
I stream using a two PC set up. I used to use a splitter but I now use cloning. ( less wires )
The question I have is can you clone a 1440P Monitor to a 1080P display?
To be clear. I need this for streaming. I'm wondering if cloning the 1440P monitor can downscale itself to the 1080P. I'm hoping someone can try this for themselves? Trying to avoid buying a rather expensive capture card.
I'm aware you can clone a 144HZ monitor to a 60HZ. Which is why I'm considering getting a 144HZ monitor. But if at all possible with down scaling. I'd love to make the switch to higher res.
Hopefully I explained this ok. Thank you for the help!

PS. Running a TitanX with Windows 10 Pro. x99 build. Wasn't sure if that mattered. Figured it wouldn't hurt!
