After installing my new graphics card my computer has been getting slower boot times. Was it because I got the latest drivers from Nvidia, could that have caused it? The first few days I just installed it with the disc it came with, without downloading the latest drivers from Nvidia. Is it a driver clash? I tried using a Driver Sweeper and reinstall drivers but that didn't work either. Either way my system takes longer to boot.

Intel Core i7-4770S 3.10 Ghz

I was using DDE, didn't resolve any issues. My previous card was Nvidia Geforce GTX 660.
I don't know if I used DDE the correct way. I downloaded it, restarted computer to safe mode, ran it, restarted and then I got the latest drivers from Nvidias website, I hope that was the correct way at least.

It still booted slowly with the supplied disc, but the fan wasn't loud then. But now that I think about it, the fan isn't really that loud, what I really want to fix is the abysmal start-up times.

My performance in games is still top notch, running full ultra in Battlefield 4 without problems for example, I got an Asus Strix Geforce GTX 970, so it came with an ASUS installation disc, there was some software that I wasn't sure if it was bloatware or not so I downloaded it, will run the CD again when I get home to check what it was. I installed the latest drivers from Nvidia website after that because at the time Experience didn't connect for some reason.

Isn't every boot a boot to windows? I should probably describe the boot process though, it starts with the ASUS screen with the text "Press F2 or DEL to open BIOS", that didn't even show up before the new graphics card. After that a flashing _ appears in the top left corner for a second, then it disappears and then it comes back for a second time, after that it goes to the welcome screen. Neither the flashing _ or the Enter BIOS message appeared before the graphics card switch is what I'm saying.

Also I should edit the post itself, I've said that my computer is slow, but it's only the boot that's slow.

Sometimes it depends on graphic card installed on the PC. In some cases they will show graphic card being 'loaded' first then will show mobo BIOS option. What you're seeing is option to enter mobo BIOS. But still as long as your gaming performance were fine and there is no other problem occur then you don't have to worry about it.

Shouldn't the American Megatrends screen show up as I have an American Megatrends motherboard? Or is it not showing up because I have Quick Boot enabled? I'll take a look in my BIOS settings when I get home. I may need to update BIOS maybe? If there isn't any easy fixes for this I guess I'll just roll with it, it'd be a shame to fuck the system up further by messing too deep.

I've gotten home and checked the supplied installation disc for the graphics card, it's loaded with the 344.48WHGL drivers and other optional software (the only one I got was Asus APRP, as it sounded important being Asus Product Registration Utility). Don't know if that would have any impact.

BIOS flash is something that you want to leave alone unless there is specific problem that actually need BIOS update to fix. did you ever mess up with BIOS setting before? anyway you can try loading BIOS default setting or simply reset the setting.
