hi, i want to buy a laptop, my budget was around 50k, i decided to buy hp ultrabook with i5 core,15.6inch screen, 1TB, 8GB Ram, etc but my brother told me to buy a laptop with amd core because I'm a engineering student and beginner, my uses are like gaming, video editing, watching movies and using some designing softwares , he says that amd can fulfil my requirement, and for my use amd is suitable, he says u don't need Intel i5, it is for high end gamers and users, even if u buy i5 u don't u don't get to see its full potential since i don't use to that limit, so I'm confused, my question is that does amd fulfils my requirements,is it enough for my use, I'm planning to my top end quad core processor in amd will it work without any lags or not or should i switch to Intel i5

What specific model is the i5?

The i5 is a good processor and I wouldn't agree with your brother, while AMD Processors have 'some' advantages, intel's processors are ussually better in 'anything'.

What was the AMD processor that you were going to pick?

As said, the i5 is a pretty good processor and would suit your needs perfectly.
