Yes, a PCIe card will work on your system. You have one x16 PCIe slot (Closest one to your CPU socket). You need to make sure your power supply can accommodate the power usage however.

To answer your question about what you can buy; you can buy any NON low-profile card that is PCIe.

If you could tell me what games you would be playing and also the resolution of your monitor I could help you choose the best card for your money. Hope I helped :)

Thanks for your answer,
I currently have a 1920x1080 display. I would be playing games such as civ5, gta5, call of duty.

Also, would I need to buy more ram? as I only have 4gb.
I am looking for the cheapest solution.
Thanks

I would go ahead and get a good 8 gig kit from a good reliable brand. I would go with a well known brand such as crucial or G skill.

As for your graphics question, I would recommend an r9 280 as a medium-end card that will surely play the games that you want. I am about to personally get a 280x, which is always an option if you want to spend a few more bucks for a factory overclocked version.

if he has a budget yeah then he can go for a 8 Gig.. but in this case he doesnt need right now. because most of the games dont even use more than 3 Gigs of ram...

Yes, most games don't utilize the 4 gig mark. However, if you are like me and have a background program or two open it will start to fall behind. I know from personal experience and through testing I have done myself. 8 gigs is basically the unwritten standard for gaming computers now.

When I have tested, the 4 gigs bottle necked (OOHH boy I'm bringing out that word) my rig. If you want to get the most performance from your rig, spend the extra few bucks on an 8 gig kit.

According to the specifications link in the original post, your CPU is the i3-3220. It's a dual core. Your games might run better if you upgraded to a quad core. The cheapest upgrade might be an i5-3xxx Quad Core. Will make a difference.

I would like the cheapest solution. I am not really sure how much GPU's cost... Somewhere between $100-$200?

Once again, I would say that I recommend the 280x for this role. It's about $200. With two gigs of GDDR5 VRAM, it is an ideal mid range card for 1080p gaming. You would be able to hit high/ultra on most games while keeping more than playable frames.
