So i built a computer a couple days ago with a PNY GTX 960 OC and AMD Athlon X4 860k (more specs can be posted if needed) And it runs games such as Skyrim, Rust, 7 Days to Die, The Forest, Stranded Deep, and several others on Almost ultra settings perfectly fine at 60fps+. But when it comes down to games such as ARK and Arma 3 and other popular survival games i can BARELY get 30fps steady on lowest possible settings (I got better performance from ark when playing on a Msi laptop with a GT 840m for comparison) Any suggestions to help me out?

ARK and ARMA 3 are very dependent of a powerful processor with strong cores. Processors like a power saving-disabled and overclocked FX-8320/8350 or quad core (+ Hyper threaded) Intel processors will help the game to perform a lot better.

The AMD Athlon X4 860k is quite good when overclocked over 4.2 Ghz, but It's not great. Especially not for CPU power dependent games. These things you'll have to deal with. If your X4 860k is not overclocked you could try that IF you have a solid motherboard with good VRM cooling and an aftermarket CPU cooler.
