So my Corsair CX750M that i bought the february just started making buzzing sounds, so it can only be coil whine. I saw this post on here that says this could fix it:

1. Execute: "regedit"
2 .Locate: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Power \ PowerSettings \ 54533251-82be-4824-96c1-47b60b¬740d00 \ 5d76a2ca-e8c0-402f-a133-215849¬2d58ad
3. Change Attributes from 1 to 0.
4. Then, through the control panel - power - in the settings mode select power management processor. There will be an option disabling idle processor and high pitched noise immediately disappears.

Though, i need some help getting step 3 and 4 fixed. Even though i changed the attributes from 1 to 0, the option "Disabling Idle Processor" is still not showing up. So i really want some help from you guys because it's really annoying and frustrating when playing competetive...!

Thanks, and have a great weekend.

Sincerly Rasmus T.

Well, i've tried stopping all the fans on my Corsair H55, all four case fans, my GTX 970 fan and it's still there. Though it's only there when it's under load, and alot of other people has had this problem too when they're CX750M is under load....

But do you have any idea why the option to disabling idle processor is not present?

Navigate to "Change advanced power settings" in which ever power plan you're currently using. Then navigate to "Processor power management" and "Processor idle disable". Set it to "Disable idle".

Not sure if you can get away with doing just the above fix but I suppose doing both doesn't hurt. This is the ultimate fix.

That's the problem. I don't have the option to do that, only three instead of four options.

My system language is in danish, but these are the three options i have. I've even tried that method changing something in RegEdit, but that didn't work either.

Well I guess playing competitive like you said, you are most likely using headphones. Is it really that loud that you can hear it through headphones? I had the exact model of PSU and it coil whined from brand new but the noise level was all the time the same and it wasn't that loud. If yours is really that loud I would RMA it honestly or even better, get a refund if possible and get a better PSU for the same money.
