Two different graphics cards. Can I run off either when both are installed.

I have a GTX 970 and a GTX 650 Ti Boost. The GTX 970 is my main card and fitted in the primary PCI-E slot.

I have been using the Ti Boost card for dedicated PhysX in the secondary PCI-E slot.

What I want to know is, can I run either of the graphics cards for display? If I move the monitor lead to the Ti Boost will it work and run normally?

The second PCI-E slot is 2.0x16 so easily fast enough not to bottleneck the 650 Ti Boost. I want to run some tests with the 650 Ti Boost, but don't want to have to swap out the graphics cards. Can it be done please?

I tried it. Yes it does work. All you have to do is move over the monitor lead, and the PC picks up which card you are using. The second graphics card works at its full gaming potential. (I did it from boot up. I don't know if the PC will do it on the fly while powered up.)

I suppose I can still use it as either another GPU for tests. Or I can use it as dedicated PhysX. I think it's just a matter of altering the settings in the Nvidia Control panel.
