My Computer is still running Windows XP.
Had built in 2004.

NVIDIA GeForce 6800
Integrated RAMDAC
256 MB
version 5.41.02.37.71
32 bit
Just never got around to upgrading this too much other than the processor twice. Going back to school so I just haven't unfortunately spent money for this. As I do not like low budget builds. When I can go 64 bit Intel with SSD it will be a chunk of change.

Any other info needed to think of the best version for me?

Thinking of ...Lubuntu 15.10 (Wily Werewolf).

Just try to buy a CD?? The install looks a bit daunting.

One question is, how to save all my bookmarks from Firefox?

Going to bed will check back at midnight when I get to work.

I suggest trying Linux Mint if you haven't used Linux much before. It is very easy to get into and doesn't require command line use like more advanced flavors:

http://www.linuxmint.com/

1) Download the Linux Mint software here: http://www.linuxmint.com/download.php

2) Use this software to install the Linux Mint ISO onto a USB drive: http://www.pendrivelinux.com/universal-usb-installer-easy-as-1-2-3/

3) Boot to the USB drive (Linux Mint Live USB) and follow the 'installer' that you see on the desktop.

I would presonally run a clean install, but if there are features of Windows you still want to use (like some games you have installed perhaps) then you might try a dual boot, or even just running Linux Mint from the USB for awhile until you get used to it.

Firefox Bookmarks are very easy to export and import. Best thing to do for that is:

- Open Firefox and go to the top-right toolbar where your bookmarks icon lives
- Click the clipboard icon and choose 'Show All Bookmarks'
- At the top of the window that opens you will see a tab named 'Import and Backup'
- Go to 'Import and Backup' and choose to export bookmarks to html (export them to somewhere easy to find like the desktop)

From here I would suggest e-mailing yourself the bookmarks.html file so you have a backup of it somewhere easy to get to later. To import them to a new browser go through the same process, but at the end choose 'Import Bookmarks from HTML' and choose the file you exported.
