Mouse kinda feels like moving my arms underwater

When I use my mouse when gaming, it doesn't feel as smooth as it should. Considering I play a lot of FPS games, and games that require precision, this is a problem. When trying to make micro-adjustments when gaming such as aim, it doesn't feel smooth,mouse kinda feels like moving my arms underwater , both in desktop, and in the game. This problem started after driver updates and changed bios settings(includes HPET). I changed settings to default but nothing changed.

First, we need to set up the mouse correctly in Windows.

Start -> Control Panel -> Mouse -> Pointer Options

Here, we need to set the mouse to 1:1 DPI ratio, aswell as disable the variable mouse acceleration.

1. Set the pointer speed to 6/11. This is the middle/default setting of windows.

2. Make sure the "Enhance pointer precision" is disabled (that means the box is NOT ticked).

Secondly (Works with XP, Vista and Windows 7)
1. Click Start button
2. Select Run
3. Type 'regedit' in the open textbox
4. Open the tree 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER', select control panel, then select mouse
5. Right clicking, modify the SmoothMouseXCurve and SmoothMouseYCurve hexidecimal values to the following:

SmoothMouseXCurve:
00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00
00,a0,00,00,00,00,00,00
00,40,01,00,00,00,00,00
00,80,02,00,00,00,00,00
00,00,05,00,00,00,00,00

SmoothMouseYCurve:
00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00
66,a6,02,00,00,00,00,00
cd,4c,05,00,00,00,00,00
a0,99,0a,00,00,00,00,00
38,33,15,00,00,00,00,00

If done correctly, you will notice you are holding a more responsive mouse (if you have been playing with mouse acceleration turned on for a long time, be warned: it does take some getting used to.)

Right click it then click modify, and make sure it looks the exact same, also in mouse options make sure you disable enhanced pointer and accuracy, they actually make it worse. after all this is done, you should notice a perfect mouse, this changes the ratios to 1-1, the dpi 1-1, so it should take a while to get used to but you should notice a huge change in accuracy. if you still have an issue, make sure there's nothing in the laser underneath your mouse as well. This is all you can do to make a mouse more responsive and accurate, next step is to buy a high dpi mouse if you want the slightest movement to rocket your cursor across the screen. 3000 dpi mouse should be good, an amazing mouse is the Redragon M901 PERDITION 16400 DPI High-Precision Programmable Laser Gaming Mouse. I hate to derail this thread but i just wanted to come in and say thank you for the registry edit as well, for myself it is a great improvement on mine as well.

Im running on a logitech g502 for extra info, this is also a great mouse to look at

It doesn't work for Windows 10. You should either use a program such as MarkC Mouse Fix or just keep the default values with Enhance Pointer Precision unchecked, and keep the 6th tick for pointer speed always.
