Tomorrow I'll be switching my AMD motherboard and processor to Intel. Will replacing these affect my computer in any way? Do I need to do anything special before I install them/after I install them?
It's hit and miss on whether swapping a different MB works or not with your Windows. I've done it with widely different boards and had no issue and then with very similar boards and had to reinstall, so it's a crap shoot.
Once your boot back up, check your activation status. If it says not activated, click activate.
You'll probably have to reinstall Windows, so backup all your stuff as your PC probably won't boot after the swap, so there will be no getting it back without rebuilding the AMD.
Make backups of the data, if running Win 7, chances are good it will set itself up to the new hardware, then you'll want to load the latest mobo drivers and run a good registry cleaner (Wise has a good free version of theirs, will also prob have to reactivate Win

Well I'm currently on windows 10, would that make a difference? And how would I reactivate windows without having to buy it over again?

OK, I'll just do it and see what happens. I'll be sure to make a backup before I do so, however. Thanks for the help.
