I just got asus gtx 770 2gb direct cu2 (refurbished) it got one 8 pin connector and another 6 pin connector I have both 8 pin and 6 pin (cooler master 600watts Thunder).
I can connect both 8 pin and 6 pin connector but problem is that both pin is connect in same wire (parallel connection) if I connect 8 pin connector I have to stretch the six pin connector a bit (bad cable management :p)since the GC is big and its my first High end GC.
I brought molex to 6 pin connector from local stores so I don't have to use my 6 pin connector.
Though My gc is working properly but my question is do this card need both 8 pin and 6 pin connector to work since I havnt tried with anyone pin connector.
I have learned from many forums that molex have less wattage than the standard PCIe 6 or 8 pin connector and 6 pin connector has more power (watts) then the 8 pin connector.....
I am really confused will my setup will damage my GC or will give malfunction due to power difference if it has....
what should I do.....I have tested witchers 3 game and so far its working good but still I am still not sure that my setup will be stable for prolong period? what do you think I should do ? (I got molex to six pin connector)

Solution
The card will not work if one of the two connectos dont have any power, and as for the spliter, i dont recomend them, its very common that those spliters fail, literally melting themselves.
