Hello,

I have found a rather cheap Win 7 Pro (about $40), from a fairly trusted website, and I had to download a .iso and I received a key.

Win7 installed, the key seems accepted, but I'm having some troubles :

1) No internet connection. An hour earlier, the previous Windows was working fine, but this one doesn't seem to recognize any cable or whatsoever. Ask me more details if you have ideas of what I should try
2) Screen resolution won't go larger than 1280x1024 (my monitor is 1920x1080). Perhaps that's a matter of driver not downloaded yet ?
3) That's all for now because I stopped working on it, but I might edit this section later.

BTW, it was bought from a French seller, pretending that the OS could be installed in multiple languages, yet only French was actually available... not that it matters but any chance this Windows 7 is somehow "bad" ?
Could I download the .iso from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download and use my key with this "proper" Windows ?

Please let me know your thoughts. I'm basically wondering whether I'm installing crap or is it just a matter of configuration.
Thanks !

What website? Selling Windows for $40 isn't generally a sign of trustworthiness.

Maybe. If it's a legit retail copy of Windows, probably yes. Otherwise no.

You probably need to install the drivers for the network card, and then run Windows Update to get your GPU drivers.
