GTX 970 + 4460 + H97 vs GTX 980 + 4690K + Z97

Solution
The 970/4460/h97 would be better price/performance. No 16gb RAM isn't overkill, 8gb is pretty standard but there was a noticeable difference going from 8gb to 16gb and if its within budget I'd say go for it.

The 970 will be fine for 1080p and will be a lot cheaper, but you could get an R9 390, which is the AMD equivalent of the GTX 970. It uses a little more power, but only 50-60 watts more, and only runs 2-3 degrees hotter at full load. Update: Idk why I forgot to put this but the R9 390 performs better in most games compared to the GTX 970.

I can't wait, (building my first PC as my laptop is dying), so I think I have to go with whatever we have in the market. After some research I found that GTX 970 is pretty sweet and 4460 is enough.

The question is, which brand of GTX 970 is the best? It seems like the MSI is the most popular, but the Gigabyte is the best no-oc.
