I'm having a very weird problem with my rig. (sorry if this is the wrong section, but i cannot pin point what the problem is exactly!)

When I first built it, it was great every game worked maxed out (high FPS) - but there was a problem my motherboard really did not like my CPU and caused my pc to crash!

After some research i figured out that i had to update the bios for them to work properly

After updating my bios most games wont play maxed out any more (VERY low FPS) (it even struggles to play games like Live for Speed, which works fine on a 512mb gpu)

Things I've tried:
- Complete re-install of AMD Drivers (using DDU)
- Upgraded to windows 10 (in case the OS was the problem) (also updated to Win 10 drivers)
- Resetting BIOS
- Putting BIOs back a version, hasn't fixed it

My Rig is:
CPU: AMD FX8350
GPU: Sapphire R9 390
Motherboard: MSI 970 Gaming
PSU: EVGA 1000W
RAm: Crorsair Vengince

Solution
SOLVED IT!

Updating this so anyone with the same issue has a potential answer!

Basically it was my Motherboard (MSI 970 Gaming) decided to underclock my CPU by 65%! so i was getting less than half the performance of my CPU therefore causing a serious decrease in performance!

However it wasnt a clock setting, it was one of the CPU safe modes that where enabled to stop the CPU from overclocking but it done much worse.

Hope this helps anyone in the future!

If SSD is the boot drive how much room do you have left on it. 128g is not a lot of space and ssd need space for overprovisioning or they will lose performance also check Kingstons website for firmware updates or tools to check it.

I am stumped now. Other things to try. I built new with windows 10 and Samsung 850 evo SSD and was getting game crashes and other strange behavior. I had to adjust virtual memory in windows according to the instructions (cant remember the settings right now or don't know if your drive requires same.) Only other thing I can think of off the top of my head is try installing windows again maybe even on another good used or cheap drive to test if it is a drive problem. I will try to think of anything else that I can.

I tried a fresh install of windows 10 last night on a second drive (unplugging my others) and installed the drivers and ran the benchmark, its the same result!

Only thing i can think of is the settings that wheren changed in the bios
