Hi all,

Looking to build a gaming pc for a friend, his budget is around $750. I'm planning on shooting him an OS key and a 7200 RPM 1 TB data drive, so no need to work that in to the budget.

What wattage PSU should I be going with? 8 GB of RAM plenty? #1 purpose of this machine is going to be gaming.

Basically, he's going to be beyond thrilled if he can play GTA 5/Battlefield/Elder Scrolls on high video quality settings.

Thanks!

I like both of those builds, but i5-4460 and haswell should be fine for a while, but to work in a nice intel with a 970 is nice. Personally i was thinking of doing a i3-6300, and a 4gb gtx 960 (i know about the memory bandwidth not fully utilizing or whatever, but, its not that much more and its nice to have some extra headroom) and upgrading to a i5 6500 down the line
